Denver Criminal Attorney
Kimberly Diego
Born in Houston, Texas, Kimberly attended middle school and high school in Argentina, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. Following her graduation from high school, she attended the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Kimberly subsequently relocated to Colorado where she obtained her J.D. at the University of Colorado.
While in law school, Kimberly interned with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, and completed the Criminal Defense Clinic. These experiences served to prepare her for a career as a criminal defense attorney. She was admitted to the Colorado bar in 2008, and founded The Law Office of Kimberly Diego in 2009. At the time, this was one of the few female-owned criminal defense practices in Colorado. This practice was founded with the goal of providing personalized, comprehensive, and devoted representation to those who became clients. Over time, Kimberly established a track record of securing successful outcomes for her clients in municipal, county, and district court cases, in many instances where prior attorneys had failed to do so. In addition, honesty and straightforward communication with clients became a practice hallmark – as effective representation cannot be accomplished without a clear understanding between the defense attorney and her client.
Further, Kimberly is bilingual – and, as such, often provides representation to Spanish-speaking clients, without the need for and additional expense of an interpreter.
Kimberly’s practice is rooted in the idea that every client, whether wrongfully or rightfully accused, is entitled to a rigorous criminal defense. Each case, no matter how big or how small, is given her personal attention – and never passed on to someone else
Kimberly has garnered quite a bit of recognition for her work as a defense attorney. In 2012, she was named one of Super Lawyers’ “Rising Stars 2012,” a distinction reserved for attorneys 40 years old or younger or who have been practicing law for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are named to this prestigious list. She also has recently been named to The National Trial Lawyers “Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Colorado for 2012-2023.″ The National Trial Lawyers is a national organization composed of the top 100 trial lawyers for each state. Additionally, she has been recognized for her work in domestic violence cases, receiving the Denver Domestic Violence Attorney Denver Award for 2012-2023.The Award Program is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the area. Ms. Diego was also featured on a E! Online news article in reference to Aurora Theater Shootings due to her expertise in Colorado criminal law, and has provided legal commentary on the Investigation Discovery network.
